Now. The way I eat has changed a ton since I moved in with my partner.
There are a few reasons for that.
The main reason: I don't really cook. I don't enjoy cooking or the process. The chopping, the spices, the prepping. I DO however love to eat. So yeah, that's the main reason. I can happily eat the same thing several days in a row.
In my single days and in my long-distance days, I would often do the same damn dinner every night: Salad, baked potoato. Done. Yup. That was it.
But now! Now I live with someone who is my opposite. My partner doesn't eat the same thing twice in a week. The benefit of that is, that our fridge looks a lot different and there is a lot more variety. I have now taken to having proper dinners, you know, with some protein even! SHOCKING! Since I am a mostly vegetarian, that's always been a challenge.
So. There are some staples that I always have around like oatmeal (god, I miss cream of wheat!) and chocolate, obviously. And you know, generally things like butter and cheese.
I used to mainly drink fruit teas, straight up, not the black tea flavored as fruit tea. But these days, it is all fennel tea.
Nothing else to add.
Well, as a proper German, my god, I love German bread. While there are many lovely bakeries in different areas of my work town - much better than at home - I usually don't have time to go and get bread there. My local supermarket though makes some decent sunflower seed roles that are right spot on. I ususally get 2-3 every week and use them for my lunch (cheese sandwich anyone)?
I love em. Usually as sweet potato baked fries. NOM. I don't buy these baby every week, but maybe once a month, so I have a few to make my fries with.
I can't get these everywhere, because I only want the proper American ones. But holy crap, when I can I enjoy every last chew. I got hooked on these when I was 15.5 and was an exchange student in Texas. Over 20 years on, it is now my slice of Americana that I treasure.
Clementines. Great to take to work. That's all.
Again something I took from my eating plan, which wasn't all bad. I usually like to take two eggs, add some spring onions, tomato and some chorizo cubes and voila. Dinner. With a salad.
To keep it real. Yeah. Almost every week. These little completely aritificial chocolate mousse thingies. They are about 100 calories and they are delicious and I have one every other day after dinner. :) Yeah. LOVE EM.
I am very picky with my meat. 90% of the time it tastes "wrong" but this is one I was able to eat....in small doses.
