Before I left the US, I had actually started building a bit of a client base for infant, baby, family and engagement photos. Even the odd boudoir shot. It's been a while since I have had a photoshoot here. I did one for a colleague in January, but that's about it.
I miss the creative outlet. This weekend we had a family event and I ran around trying to get some photos done. All of them weren't creative at all, because it was all along the lines of "Let's do a quick group photo", but just sitting there last night and editing them made me such a happy camper, because a few of them were really cute.
The main reason I am not doing anything here really is time. I just don't have it. My commute is a bbitch and once you are out of the house every day from sometimes 5:15 am to 7:15pm, you do loose the desire to run around on weekends and do photo shoots. Let's face it. Travel time can be an hour total, the photo shoot itself will take about 2-3 hours and editing is another 3-4 hours. I also didn't have any opportunity really, because in Boston I had people who would recomemnt me and friends who were kind enough to let me use their kids and babies....I don't know anyone here.
So. This weekend was a reminder how much I miss taking photos. However, I do have a trip planned to Denmark in the late summer and I am sure I will take some family photos there! So there are little things that I can do to make me happy.
