The nice thing was though that I was really looking forward to going to the gym regularly again, even if it means getting up at 5:10 in the morning and taking one of the first trains into town. I did it 3x last week and I did it twice this week already, Tomorrow is a break day, because apparently I am going to the Playboy Club with some ex-co-workers - should be interesting. I just wanted a drink to be honest, but oh well.
Last year I became way too focused on fitness and body shape and all of that. I am pleased that so far I have managed to keep my attitude in check. I am fairly happy where I am at right now and more importantly, my body seems to be happy with where it is right now. Yes, it is not as slim as it was last year at this time, but not by a long shot, just a 2-3 kgs, but maybe that just wasn't the right weight for me for maintenance. Because, despite the fact that I didn't work out in almost a month, I felt absolutely fine. The 5:2 probably has something to do with it, which I still enjoy doing.
Well. I wouldn't call a fasting day exactly enjoyment, but this is what is so great: It seems to work with me on a different level. It seems to free up my mind to actually ENJOY food on the days I am not doing it. Yes, do I eat more chocolate? TOTALLY. But I don't binge, I just actually enjoy having a slice of cake or a little bowl of ice cream, something that previously would riddle me with guilt. So, 5:2 is working for me on that level. The rest I don't really care as much right now, because I have consistently been feeling good in my own skin.
Today I did the first interval running training in ages and holy crap was it great to break a huge sweat like that! Can't wait to do it again.
